The 2012 editorial calendar and media planners for GEN and all Liebert publications will be available from September 1st 2011.

All 2012 advertising booked on or before December 21st 2011 will qualify for 2011 rate protection and 2011 advertisers also have options on preferred positions taken in 2011 if confirmed by December 2011.

Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News (www.genengnews.com) is celebrating its 30th year of publishing in 2011.  A special GEN 30 Commemorative Issue in October highlights advances made over the last 30 years and prospects for the next 30.

Thomas Hope, PhD, Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology, Feinberg School of Medical at Northwestern University, has been appointed incoming Editor-in-Chief of AIDS Research & Human Retroviruses from fall 2009. Dr. Hope received his PhD in immunology and training in molecular virology as a postdoctoral fellow.  Dr. Hope currently uses the techniques to cell biology to study HIV replication and transmission, and he is know for his live cell imaging studies of HIV biology.

IEEE Spectrum Associate Editor Sally Adee received a National Press Club Award, the Michael A. Dornheim Award on 3 August, for her article “The Hunt for the Kill Switch” (May 2008). The Washington-based NPC, the world's most renowned press club, evaluated 139 entries in 18 categories.

July 2009:     
Journal of Aerosol Medicine and Pulmonary Drug Delivery announces it is to move to bimonthly publication in 2010.

Netherlands Society for Gene Therapy has named Human Gene Therapy its official journal.
